How can we download TDS certificate from TIN website?

As CBDT has issued an important circular [CIRCULAR NO. 01/2012 [F.No. 276/34/2011-IT(B)], DATED 9-4-2012] regarding issuance of TDS certificate in Form 16A in respect of all sums deducted on or after 01-04-2012.

As per this circular:-

1) All deductors shall Issue TDS certificate in Form No. 16A generated through TIN central system which is downloadable from the TIN website with a unique TDS certificate number in respect of all sums deducted on or after the 01-04-2012;

2) The deductors, issuing the TDS certificate in Form No.16A by downloading it from the TIN website, shall authenticate such TDS certificate either by using digital signature or by manual signature.

So here I am sharing steps that how can we download TDS certificate from TIN website:-

a. Click https://www.tin-nsdl.com/.

b. Click on the "Online TAN Registration" available in the home page and follow the due procedures mentioned therein. Or click https://onlineservices.tin.nsdl.com/TIN/JSP/tds/RegisterTan.jsp for direct link.

c. After registration the deductor would be allotted a Reference Number. The deductor will also receive an email from NSDL containing information i.e. Reference Number, User Name, Password etc.

d. After registration visit the website again i.e. https://www.tin-nsdl.com/ and Login to TAN Account.

e. Login by giving the User Name, Password and TAN Number.

f. Give the details as asked for by the website for every quarter. You will receive by email a text file from NSDL.

g. Convert that text file into a PDF file / TDS certificate (Form 16A). You can download Requisite conversion software from the website itself.

h. After converting into PDF, the TDS certificates will be saved in the computer automatically at the defined path. Check and Review the same.

i. If found in order, affix seal and signature and issue the certificate to the deductees.
