This is a very good idea. I would like to add that in Finland this sort of Tree Planting and to extend Tax Concession is followed. The Social Forestry concept , which is in practice in our Country may be further studied and strengthened.

@Rishimon- I appreciate your input. But that will kill transparency. As some people will start accusing such organisations for corruption, like we accuse government.

Government will organize 'Public Plantation Scheme' (PPS). This will allow non-land holders to plant trees on government land. Non-land holders will be assumed to have 9,000 sq feet of land for this purpose. They can earn tree credits by planting in PPS.

solution:An organisation having certified Arborists will plant & maintain trees. Their annual cost can be devided into shares. Tax payers may buy such shares and claim deduction on the basis of such shares purchased.

No benefits for City dwellers because they have shortage of land for plantation.
