26% of Indians poor, says Montek

Around 310 million Indians or 26 % of Indian are now poor,claimed Planning Commission deputy chairperson Montek Singh Ahluwalia on Friday. It means a decline of about 11.2 % or around 900 millions brought out of poverty since the UPA government came to power.
