ofcourse it will create additional revenue for govt. but 38 negative list not enough. there must be sub category in between the taxable services by which tax burdern can be avoided on poor one.

Negative list contain only 17 services while there is so many services which is necessity to all the peoples but because of negative list these necessity services would also be taxable

service tax generate much revenu to goverment & it is covering allmost all services except fev left so it is better to generate negative list which does not charged to service tax

Its clear intention of the Govt. to leavy tax as far as possible. They do not want to left anything for the people as collection of taxation is under the constitution. But I think it's utlization is very much important.

yes because in our country's GDP ,services forming part of 54% but tax collected from those services had been less proportionate to percentage of GDP.revenue to the government considerably low and govt can't give any subsidy on oil imports and also low no.of social welfare programs.

it shows that v r going in the right direction as the same policy is adopted in developed countries. Moreover it is more helpful as it will be easy to understand by people who have a little knowledge reason being except few all are taxable. :)
