WHY CA's ARE HOT PROPERTY EVERYWHERE??
Hi Everybody.Many of the readers of this article must be busy with there Nov 2011 exams preparation. And for the rest of us it is Diwali celebration time. Many of us who are members of the institute or who will be becoming members of the institute in future have a dream.Dream?? What kind of dream??
To become Chartered Accountant and fulfill all our wishes in future. Many of you will be thinking what is so unique about this profession that the world salutes these brilliant chaps for the rest of their life. First take the job market. Today's job market is so competitive.Every candidate is trying to sell himself to the organization with his skill set and the company wants the best of the best.With Chartered Accountancy degree in your hand the world will be in your feet.CA is an internationally relevant and accessible qualification, a go anywhere passport to a successful career.Believe me it is very tough to become a Chartered Accountant but it's very easy to earn money after you attain this wonderful degree.And the best thing is that the world salutes you. When you walk inside the campus of the company and somebody comes to know that you are a Chartered Accountant he/she looks at you with utmost respect.And why am I saying so?? Because the same is not true to that extent for all the professions. I am taking below some educational qualifications and what all does a average guy/gal receives from his/her qualification.
(1.) MBA's: - I salute these beautiful people for their communication skills.And here I remember a beautiful quotation which my teacher used to say "It is the Communication skills that impresses the person but it is the intelligence that drives the situation." And the same holds very much true for MBA's.If we leave aside the Top 10 to 20 B-Schools then there is seldom any B-School which teaches finance in so much detail as the Chartered Accountancy course does.The MBA's have wonderful communication skills and there is no doubt about that but when it comes to tedious finance tasks the companies almost always demand the services of Chartered Accountants for their all round finance knowledge.
I have gone through many such job interviews where MBA(Finance) were also called for the position. They were very good with their presentation skills but when it came to tedious finance tasks which required deep knowledge of Indian Taxation Laws(considered to be one of the toughest in the world),Accounts and finalization the Chartered Accountants were always selected.And even if thee MBA's were selected they were underpaid for the same job.
And don't forget the MBA's from substandard B-Schools. I have seen many of these MBA's who are looking out for jobs. But if you ignore May 2011, I have never seen any Chartered Accountant who is unemployed.And even if it's so take Certificate of Practice from ICAI and start your own practice.
I remember the beautiful words of another person which I am going to quote here. "MBA's are like Diamonds which would ultimately turn into coal while CA's are like Gold." If you go into the job market after doing MBA, people will almost always ask you from which institute you did your MBA. But the same does not hold good for CA's because everybody knows from which institute CA is done.
(2.) Engineers: - Salute them for all the Research and Development and making this world a beautiful place to live in. But the same doesn't hold good after the privitisation of the engineering education. When compared to MBA's they are still much better for their technical education but after privitisation engineers too are facing difficulty in getting jobs because of the demand supply mismatch. Ask your fathers and grandfathers who did Engineering from Regional Colleges what was the job market and respect of engineer then and what it is now for the Generation X engineers.And you will get the reply. And mind you I am not including cream of engineers i.e. IIT and top 10 engineering colleges.Many of us dream of going there but the reality is so harsh.
(3.) Doctors: - I would not have liked to comment on them. They save human lives and that is more precious than anything else in this world.But the trend has changed in todays's world.It takes the child half a decade to become a doctor and for parents whole lot of savings in the form of donation and fees to see those wonderful words "Dr" in front of their children's name but their are very few hospitals where whole lot of doctor's have to get employed at a good salary. And as for the practice the younger lot is not ready for it because of the difficulties in setting up one.Many of my doctor friends are still looking out for job in Tier A Hospitals with quality salary.
(4.) MCA's: - In the year 2000 the IT industry was at its peak. And the MCA's were the preferred lot for their technical knowledge of Computers and were saluted for their programming skills. But slowly the last decade changed the trend. MCA's are still the preferred lot but when it comes to Requirement Gathering, System Testing of ERP's , Chartered Accountants are considered an equal part of the team.
Comparing Chartered Accountants to above mentioned fields, I think CA's have a slight advantage in every aspect. Every type of business whether its a small proprietory firm or a MNC needs the servies of a Chartered Accountant.Moreever the services of a CA are not restricted to a particular industry when compared to other types of qualifications.When you become a Chartered Accountant your life gets secured. Your signatures are enough for compliance with various laws. As for me personally speaking I wanted to become Chartered Accountant because the charisma of signing the Balance Sheet which cannot be replaced with anything in this world.You have the government recognized power and that is more than enough to make one feel secure.Moreever in Commerce field Chartered Accountancy is considered to be the highest degree and if you have to go for the jobs why not complete you education with the highest degree.
CA's In Marriage Market
What can I say about that?? Well I have personally experienced that the opposite s*x dools over you if they know that you are a Chartered Accountant.You have enough choice from all types of girls to choose from. And hey girls don't get angry. I have enough of my friends from oppsite s*x also who are Chartered Accountants and even they tell me that the choice they get in marriage market is more than enough to choose from.So if you are a Chartered Accountant, no matter of which s*x you are, you have enough choice of partners in marriage market to choose from. And your prospective partner knows that his/her future is secured because of your secured future.
According to a recent survey which i read in The Times of India some 1 month back, the finance professionals are very much in demand in marriage market whereas the IT professionals are slowly getting out of favour for the insecurity which they carry with their jobs.Posted below is the link to that article: -

And the respect the Chartered Accountants get in weddings, parties etc.Catch any CA and ask him/her this question and you will know the answer.
So guys if you are in CA Final or even CA PCC level I would suggest that you complete your CA, even if it takes years ahead because the powers you get with the degree of Chartered Accountancy are more than enough to erase your harsh time in studying for this wonderful and toughest course of Chartered Accountancy.
