Our company wants to acquire a brand name (which is differnt from name of our co.) under which the company wnats to do charity work.
eg. - ABC Private Limited wnats to do charity work under name of DEF Society.
Can company do so?
or is company required to establish Sec. 25 Company / Trust ?
Can seperate bank account to be opened in the name of DEF Society?

Dear Savitha,
Yes you can use the brand name other than company's name. A brand name may be registered with the trademarks registry which you are using or proposed to use.
A company need not incorporate a separate company to provide charitable services, however it is advisable to incorporate sec. 25 company if the scope and level of services requires huge amounts for tax purposes.
A society has to open a separate bank account inorder to do its day to day transactions with its own name.
