To write cpt or not????

hi everyone...

i am doing my 2nd year B.com.. and i hav written SBI exam for clerks.... so if i crack my xam i think i wont be able to complete my degree... but i wanna do CA.... (side by side ofcourse  bcoz tatz my ambition)... so my doubt is can i wait for one more year to pass and write IPCC directly... (if i dont pass the clerk xam) or to be on a safer side can i CPT tiz dec.... plz help......

Its Good to hear that you are eager to join CA..

However, You are pursuing Graduation and trying your career in Banking field..

But there is a mismatch in your concept...

If you crack your Competion Exam..i,e Clerical (SBI)..

You wont able to continue your CA course....

The reason is that...after completion of your IPCC group 1 examination you have to enrolled yourself for articleship training.....that wont allow you to work under any Govt. Organisation upto completion of your articleship training...

And its better for you to give CPT instead of waiting for your graduation results....

As you never been through CA examination..it will enable you to know about your SWOT (Strenght, Weakness, Opportunity and Threat)

And it will work as a base.....through out your CA Career....

I dont think ICAI has issued an official notification regarding exemption of CPT for graduates....

There is no possible hope that CPT exemption wil be brought into effect within a Yr.

If ur really passionate about CA, you can attempt CPT in dec'12 that wil be a better option

DIVYALAKSHMI really very happy to see attempt a sbi clerk exam at sybcom....u have very high spirits....maintain tat throughout ur life...coming to the topic....cpt exemption as per my opinion will take approx a year or 2 to be implemented by the time it will be better if u clear clerical exams of sbi as well as of ther banks(just ot be on the safer side)....and after getting job while in ur probation period u can do CWA....as in job cwa = ca(myself n my friends conducted a survey of prospects of ca vs cwa in job involved 575 ca cs cwa qualified ppl.....in job in a co. or bank ca=cwa....)in cwa there is no compulsion for articleship as in case of ca....best wishes.....
