I have my banks 10 digit TAN number .

I also have my PAN number .

I also have a copy of my Form 26AS from my bank .

The tax deducted by the bank on it is proper. There are no discrepancies , all the figures and amount are correct. Its interest income and they have deducted TDS on it.

However I don’t have any TDS certificate ( Form 16A ) as the bank has not sent it to me so far.

Can I get this TDS certificate ( Form 16A ) on my own from the tax website ? Can I as a deductee view this TDS certificate or downlaod it somewhere ?

I tried to get it online but it keeps on asking for the 6 digit TDS certificate number which I don’t have as I don’t have the TDS certificate to beging with.

But I do have the banks TAN , my PAN , Form 26AS..so based on these 3 things ..how can I get my TDS certificate ? ..

I can always ask my bank to resend it to me , but in the meantime can I download it directly from the tax websiteor any other government website as its urgent ? I don't want to wait for my bank to resend it to me as it might take some time and I would rather get it on my own or download it.

Any help in this regard is highly appreciated ..Thanks

Downloading of TDS certificate can only be done by bank. Bank is required to download tds certificate for all their deductees and communicate them.

To claim TDS refund in your return Form 26AS is more than sufficient. Thus, no need to panic so far form 26AS contains details of all TDS deducted.

You need to collect form 16A, because there is no UIN in form 26AS.

^^^

i am assuming UIN stands for Unique Identification Number . Is that the same thing as UTN i.e Unique Transaction Number or is the UIN different from UTN ?

Thanks In Advance

Income Tax Dept. is not keen on looking at Form 16A as the primary document.

If your 26AS shows the Credit of TDS, that is more than enough to claim TDS Credit in ROI.

I THINK 26 AS IS NOT SUFFICIENT BECAUSE NOW WE HAVE TO MENTION CERTIFICATE NUMBER IN THE ITR FOR REFUND OF TDS QUARTERLY NOT YEARLY. ALSO CONFUSE 6 DIGIT OR 8 DIGIT BECAUSE ITR FORM DOESNOT TAKE 6 DIGIT  CERTIFICATE NUMBER, CAN ANY ONE CLARIFY THE DIGIT OF CERTIFICATE NO.
