New Topic E-sugam doubt
Posted by : Anupam on 18 June 2013

Dear all,

We have a registered office in Chennai. We have purchased few desktops a year back which were delivered in our bangalore office (not registered). Now, we want to bring those assets back to Chennai. However, in the checkpost, the authorities are asking for e-sugam form which is a form given by dealers stating that the commodities being shifted is taxable or not. This form can be downloaded only if you have registered for VAT. We are not registered for VAT neither do we want to. Wanted your opinion on how to bring back those assets?

New Topic GREAT NEWS !!! GET RELIEF FROM ITR-V AND GREAT MOVE BY CBDT

" GREATTTTTT  NEWSSSSSS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! "

" GET RELIEF FROM ITR-V  AND GREAT MOVEEEE  BY CBDT " .

CBDT : “ MAY NOT BE MANDATORY TO POST ITR-V IN CASE OF E-FILING OF IT-RETURN FROM A.Y 2014 - 2015 “.

Millions of taxpayers filing electronic I-T returns will soon get relief from sending by post the mandatory paper verification form as the CBDT has decided to soon stop this practice. The Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT), administrative authority of the Income Tax department, will now instead introduce electronic verification of these online returns.

The new measure, expected to be operational within this financial year, will save the taxpayer from the hassle of sending the paper document (called ITR V) by post and tracking its acknowledgement.   The department has been receiving a number of complaints from taxpayers with regard to following these rules and also was getting suggestions to do away with paper documents and make e-filing more user friendly, he said.   When taxpayers file returns online, they are required to send a mandatory 'ITR V', under ordinary post to the I-T department's CPC, based in Bangalore. It then sends an electronic acknowledgement to the tax return filer.

In case of digital signatures (used by corporate entities), a bonafide statement that verifies the identity of the sender, are required to be created by paying a fee and requires regular renewal.

Recently, the CBDT has made e-filing mandatory for those with an annual income of Rs 5 lakh or more for the financial year 2012-13 and assessment year 2013-14 and with the addition of this category of taxpayers the department expects a huge surge in the number of Internet based filers.

The department, according to a blueprint prepared in this regard, also wants to introduce "new concept of third party validation of utilities developed for e-filing which will avoid mistakes in returns and bring uniformity in the interpretation of tax laws in filing of returns.

Thanks ..

PALASH RAKSHIT...

Mr. Jain,

Thank you for your continued help. Of course geting any info from IT Dept is practically impossible, they never reply!

I did look again at the latest ITR forms on the e-fling website. For ITR-1 it says it cannot be used by residents with foreign assets, so presumably for non-residents it is OK, but not clear for RNOR.

In ITR-2 I saw 3 schedules: FSI (Foreign Source Income), FA (Foreign Assets) and TR (tax relief under section 90/90A & 91). For FA it says not applicable for Non-Residents, so presumably FSI also not applicable to non-residents, but again unclear for RNOR. Here are my questions:

1. What is Section 90/90A and 91? Is that DTAA?

2. If these schedules are in ITR-2 does that mean this reporting is now required for AY2013-14 and we cannot wait until next year?

3. How to clarify RNOR requirements?

Thank you.

Hi Robin

All expenses incurred on asset still the time  the asset is ready for use , need to be captialized. but note that all refundable taxes that is which we can claim from the government need to be included in the recognization.

In the given case, both the expenses need to be captialized ,

Best Regards
