I had passed CPT exam in November 2006 securing 18th rank.
I have also completed the 100 hours ITT course by passing the test conducted on 24/06/07.
I would like to know whether the eligibility requirement for PCC Exam is 15 months of articleship, 3 months prior to the exams OR 18 months of articleship.
This is important for me as I would be completing my 15 months of articleship in the first week of May 2008. After that I intend to take a break and NOT leave from articleship for about 11 months for the PCC exam in November 2008 and for the T.Y.B.Com University exams in March-April 2009. Consequently I would resume my articleship for the balance period of 27 months. I have not come across any regulation stating that we cannot take a break or have to be on leave for studying and apearing for the exams. Please reply to my query as soon as possible.

Hi,Manish.
The eligibility requirement for PCC Exam
is 15 months of articleship, 3 months prior to the exams.
Hence you will be eligible to give exams in Nov.2008 even if you take a break instead of leave.
All the best...............

Hye, As such break up is not allowed in articleship. You can take leave and if the leave taken by you exceeds the maximum leave allowed by the institute, then your articleship period will get increased by the no. of days you have taken excess leave over and above the maximum leave permitted by the institute. Also the requirement for PCC is the completion of 15 months of articleship prior to 3 months of exams. Hence you will be eligible for the exams.

"As such break up is not allowed in articleship"
Is that true? I already had taken a month's break earlier when I was searching for transfer. The Institute did not object then.
"You can take leave and if the leave taken by you exceeds the maximum leave allowed by the institute, then your articleship period will get increased by the no. of days you have taken excess leave over and above the maximum leave permitted by the institute."
Well, my current current employer won't give me a leave of 11 months. Is there a firm which would?
Actually my query can be asked in another way. Is there any maximum period set between termination and transfer?
