Hai,

I have one query about tax filing. Could you please clear that?

1. I quit my last organization March 21, 2011 and joined the current one on March 25.  So I have two form 16 now.  My previous company has deducted a tax of 5,416 and my current company didnt cut any tax for the seven days (march 25 to march 31).  The seven days salary comes around 9,229.  My question is, when I put all items of both the Form 16 together in the excel sheet (provided in the gov: website) and click on the "calculate tax" button, it is displaying that i have a due of 845 Rs as tax, because it is calculating the tax for the 9,229 also. So, what can i do in this case.  Should i file it seperately ??

2. Second is, my last year's annual salary does not exceed 5 lakhs.  So should I file the returns this year?.

Please help me regarding this.

Thanks,
Anish

when there is a refund from the dept. / due to the govt. the clause of Rs.5 lakhs does not apply.

In your case you are to pay ........ to the dept. . hece you should file .

OR keep .
