Tally is ODBC software
Keep it running, then open excel. Goto Data - Import External Data - Import Data - Select - Tally ODBC
Next from the list of tables select which ones you want and import
OR
Export Data from Tally

Sir, I kept my licence tally open and than open excel and go to import data and select ODBC tally 9090 from the list after that excel shows a massage that "Unable to obtain list of tables from the data source"
Sir, pl help me I have to prepare balance sheet, profit and loss a/c and sales/ purchase register in excel.

For conversion of data from Tally 7.2 to Tally 9 you have to require MIGRATION TOOL i send in your mail please check it

I want to convert Tally 7.2 as well as Tally 9 data to an EXCEL form. The tally migration tool I have but I need tolls for converting Tally Data to EXCEL format.

Hi Rajen,
I think I have given you the procedure I have used time and again.
Try this .......... search the tally help file and see it for yourself may be I skipped a step or two it will be a file with extension .chm

Sir, im my computer in tally calculator pan the word "ODBC Server" not appear. As per tally help is says that if ODBC is there than only data will conver to excel else no. Now my problem is how i can get this ODBC server in tally ?? Pl help me

Dear Rajen
I suggest you to follow the below steps:
Right click on the Tally icon in the desktop >> properties >> find target >> double click on Tallylicserver or Tallylic9xserver.
1) Uninstall Tallylicserver or Tallylic9xserver (Tallylicserver for Win2000 and above and Tallylic9xserver for Win 95 or 98) in the server machine.
2) Message will popup TallyLicserver Uninstalled successfully
3) Then open tally.ini of the server and add these lines:
clientserver = server
Serverport = 15000
Save the file
Now open Tally and check in the calculator pane it show odbc:15000
once it is done, then In the client machine
4) Open ini file in the client machine give Tallylicenseserver = give the server system name or Ip address of the server machine: 15000(Give the port number which you have given in the server ini file) save the file.
5) Open ini file in the client machine give Tallylicenseserver = give the server system name or Ip address of the server machine: 15000(Give the port number which you have given in the server ini file) save the file.
Tallylicense = connect Tallylicenseserver = IP address or server name : 15000
6) Now come to server machine and double click on install button of Tallylicserver or Tallylic9xserver (Tallylicserver for Win2000 and above and Tallylic9xserver for Win 95 or 98) in the server machine
7) Message will popup TallyLicserver installed successfully
Now open Tally in the server machine, it will display ODBC:15000 in the calculator pane.
Now open Tally in the client machine and check it is displaying the serial number

Dear Rajan,
Dont worry ill help u for converting the tally data into excel format. But it will take some time it is possibel for u. My suggestion go to import or export option in tally or excel covert the file in excel format this is a simple thing.
