Help regarding pan pls its urgent

Hello members i have a query a client of ours has been alloted two pan cards and we have surrendered one pan card on this site http://incometax.sparshindia.com/pan/newPAN.asp

i want to know do we have to do something else also to surrender or this is enough and how will we know that the surrendered pan card has been canceled or not by the dept as its over a month passed and when we check the status it doesnt show any remark by the incometax dept..

 pls help friends on this what to do how to know weather the pan has been cancled or not or if something else has to be done pls tell pls pls..
