Excise registration amendment

Our client converted partnership firm to part IX private limited Co recently. Obtained new PAN. My query , whether existing excise registration need to be modified as business same and only change in constitution or new registration need to be obtained.

As he has obtained new PAN for the new company the existing registration will not be valid. Firm as to go for new registration.
