Whether Commisson to news paper dealer is subject to tds?
News paper co. gives the papers @ 25% lesser cost to the dealers which is called commission. Some co. shows it in the bill and others send a net bill @ 75% cost.
If the news paper co. sends a bill with metion of commission in the bill(i.e Cost of papers 10000 less commission 2500 net bill 7500) , is it subject to TDS?
Yes it is subject to TDS. The company has to deduct TDS on the Commission or discount amount.
KINDLY LET ME KNOW IF THERE IS ANY SPECIFIC PROVISION IN THIS REGARD?
RIGHT NOW I CAME ACCROSS A CASE WHERE THE NEWS PAPER CO. DOES NOT DEDUCT THE TDS AT ALL.
