The below conversation may be helpful for many....

.

One student called me approx two weeks before:

.

Hello sir,

.

.

(for readers ready reference; the link is :

/articles/revision-of-whole-syllabus-in-day-one-at-the-time-of-exam-5394.asp)

.

Completed Munish Bhandari handbook in 12 hrs

.

But I dont know wheter m going on right way.

.

.

You may now practice for writing to check your performance.

.

If you have grasped the concepts; your answering speed would be high....

otherwise you have to take a pause to think about the answer....

.

.

.

.awesome article sir thanks

Today i left my job

.

Me : (although shocked)

.

No problem....job would be available...firstly complete what you desire

.

Study the subjects....as if these are important in your career.....not for just passing.

.

.

yaa sir

actually i m going to start practise after clearing ca

.

ok

.

.

.

.

After 12 days…

.

hello sir….how are u

Sir i have solved 8 papers....comfortably…

should i decrease my number of hours I study?

.

Me : You may take small breaks....like for 10-15 minutes.....if you feel tired to study for a long time...

.

But I don't suggest you to take long breaks.....

however...for time being full one day break is advisable ....

to charge up.

.

sir I use to study in two parts...first 3 am - 9 am....then sleep for 1 hr...

and then 1 pm -7 pm.....and revision at  8-9

Me : Feeling relaxed is a good signal especially in CA exams...

.

yaaa ….should I try for rank

.

 Sure!!

.

Target for 70 in three subjects..

of your choice...and interest...

….in which you wish to make your career.

.

.

Actually I wish to go into practice

can i practice in corporate laws?

.

In which city r u?

.

Mumbai.

.

In Mumbai...it is possible...by appointing one fresh CS in your office....

but don't go for traditional practice...

.

yaaa sir

actually m also looking into finance...like loan syndication...valuations etc

.

GO FOR ONLY ONE AREA

.

one area…? why sir?

.

Because every field is BIG enough to make a bright career.

Time is limited ....don't just earn money.....LIFE IS ALSO IMPORTANT...

work only for 8 hours seriously....that's all..

if you talk to others; majority will not agree on this (although they inherently wish),

but it would be possible if you do your own practice

.

yaa sir

.

For practice; liaison is very important...for that you must visit and attend so many places..

seminars/conferences etc...

.

to make your identity and update yourself  how subjects are applied practically.

.

But is that true we can earn more in practice than going for job?

.

YES

Sir, can chartered accountants practice in field of finance and what are options in it

.

CAs can practice in the field of Finance.

You may open Private Limited Firm to provide Consultancy in Finance in addition to

your own firm for practice..

.

okkk ..sir what are the main feild were i can give advice in the field?

.

In finance?

.

yes sir

.

Too many.....working capital...term loan...restructuring of capital with proper mix of capital....private equity...etc..etc..

.

ohhh thank u sir

.

but sir i never had exposure of such things in my articleship period

.

Then you may choose to go for job for 2-3 years initially...

in that field...

.

Sir but there are hardly any ca firms which do this

.

You need not go into a ca firm...you may go to any merchant banker...

there you would be able to know all about....valuation....cost of capital...source of raising capital etc...

.

okk sir thank you

.

After exams; you must start reading various journals like BUSINESS INDIA, CAPITAL MARKET, MONEY etc...

.

These magazines will give you latest knowledge about the business world.

.

The monthly cost of such magazines would be around Rs.500 only.

.

hmm

Good night...wish you all the best..

thank you sir…..
