invested in a gold fund in sips of Rs 2000 p.m. from nov 2011 to march 2014. Redeemed all units in may 2016. I have calculated capital loss for each sip based on holding period of greater than or less than 3 yrs. For the sips upto april 2013, since holding period is more than 3 yrs, I have calculated LTCL by indexing cost of acquisition of all the sips individually. date of purchase amt indexed cost of acq 15-11-11 2000.002045 2968.340765 10-01-12 1975.005379 2931.241492 10-02-12 1975.002694 2931.237508 12-03-12 1974.996208 2931.227881 10-04-12 1974.999512 2607.833862 10-05-12 1999.99894 2640.843671 11-06-12 2000.006062 2640.853075 10-07-12 1999.99656 2640.840528 10-08-12 2000.002629 2640.848542 10-09-12 2000.003238 2640.849346 10-10-12 2000.004934 2640.851586 12-11-12 2000.005242 2640.851993 10-12-12 2000.006635 2640.853832 10-01-13 2000.001104 2640.846529 11-02-13 2000.002176 2640.847943 11-03-13 2000.003435 2640.849606 10-04-13 1999.995713 2396.160998 total indexed cost 45815 sold units purchased upto 10/04/2013 on 9-5-16 for Rs 32458 long term capital loss=32458-45815=13357 which will be c/forward. am I correct? for units bought from10/5/13 to 10/03/14, calculated short term capital loss.
