29 August 2015 My query is that,when an article founds some discrepancy during the audit,why the chartered accountant,solve that by negotiating with the owner or manager of that company or firm,why he don't qualify or negative the report,just because if he do so he will loose the client?

29 August 2015 MATERIALITY is the backbone of AUDIT.

It is a true blend of TRUE and CORRECT.

Please note that AUDIT does not mean EXPOSING your client to the outside world.

Taking into account so many such POLITE factors, the client is given "the opportunity of being heard" before either qualifying or disclaiming the report. Loosing client as such is NOT the consideration.

29 August 2015 The client was given optimum time to give what ever evidence he have,but he was not able to provide. It is not that,the discrepancies which were not solved,are left as it is, or they hide those things by negotiating with the CA. I know what audit means, it does not mean to hide the discrepancies of the client, just for some extra bugs.

Now you started talking too general to solve your query.

If you are able to put the MATERIALITY in your case, I would be able to sort out if it is NEGOTIABLE or NOT.

10 September 2015 Here the material thing is that,if you don't negotiate you will loose your client.

10 September 2015 No, I think you are trying to look at it from REAR angle.

Be positive, lead from FRONT and then probably no negotiations are required.

Please try to understand the line of distinction between REPORT and DOING business.

Auditor's role is to report. S/he is NOT the enterpreneur of that business.

10 September 2015 Yes,absolutely right,but in real business it is not happening so. This is what I am concerned about.In future do we also have to work like this.

10 September 2015 I am sorry to ask this.....How many such cases you have come across? 1? 5? 50? How many?

10 September 2015 Sir I am not here to expose anyone,there are many firms which are doing so,many of my friends from different firms have the same opinion. Suggest me what should I do? Thank You.

12 September 2015 It is not the question of EXPOSING anybody. If anything UNETHICAL is happening in the PROFESSION, it is our PARAMOUNT duty to bring it to the notice of ICAI.
What your friends HEARSAY has got no meaning unless we do something to STOP such practices. Infact, that is why I gave you me e mail id. Without disclosing your name, I can take the matter to higher level. Choice is yours.
But my point is very clear..either come forward else dont just GOSSIP and GRAPEVINE
