Dear Sir,

I want to know the exact treatment of expenses incurred before start of commercial operations. The Company received penalty income from one of its contractor for not complying with the contract and interest on FDR. In last year, balance sheet some expenses are treated as revenue expenditure and most of the part are transferred to pre-operative expenditure. The Company commenced commercial operations during the year 2012-2013 but incurs heavy expenditure in the year 2011-2012. Can I treat whole expenditure as pre-operative or some part can be treated as revenue.
