Dear Rakesh,

I assum that your friend has applied for new PAN after TDS returns filing by the company.

Otherwise TDS returns filing by company in which TDS remittenance get credited to the deductee account, would not have been possible!!

I suggest your friend to write letter or if possible contact Income tax commissioner in the respective jurisdiction to resolve this matter.

IT Dept surely assist your frined.

Further also surrender previous PAN to IT Dept & get acknowlegement for the same.

Holdind two PANs is an offence.

Please surrender the incorrect one ASAP.

For claiming TDS, you will have to ask the employer to revise the TDS return.

Better to ask your deductor to revise the return to take credit of TDS.
