 HI,
I paid self assesment tax twice by msctake for AY 12-13, Rs 1060. Is there any way can i get back my Rs from the dept?

 Earlier u were filing return as tax payable now file it as refundable n claim the refund of extra payment of Rs. 1060/- n if u have already submitted the return then file revise return

 Yes.claiming refund through filing returns is correct option
