The Central Excise and Service Tax department has various departments dealing with the assessee. For example, Range Office, Preventive Wing, Audit and the DGCEI. At times it happens that the scrutiny of the same matter is undertaken by one wing, which has already been scrutinised by another wing.
It is understood that there is a Board's Circular requiring avoidance of such duplication. May I have the circular?
