29 July 2014 Dear all,I m having a problem in one of my clients" login. My client has filed the last year return with some unprofessional person. He is not cooperating for giving us d password.I took a digital signature of my client to reset d password but at forget password link it is showing that "user does not exist" n whn I m tryingto register the client it shows this PAN has already been registers. Mailed to it department as well as call center but there is no response Now what to do ?

29 July 2014 This kind of issues were very common and many e-filers were facing such difficulties. To overcome this IT Department has added new option under forgot password. It is OTP. It will send the OTP to your registered email id and mobile no. Now if you dont know mobile no even then you can reset your password by giving new mobile no and new email id and for this you only need to mention any of the following details:

1) TAN of deductor who has deducted TDS from you.
2) Saving Bank A/c No.
3) BSR Code, Challaan date and CIN no of any challan deposited towards payment of Tax during AY 14-15 or AY 13-14.

So try this new facility and reset your Password.

Was trying to locate this option. But couldn't find. Atleast for my password reset, it is giving the old three options.

would be great if you could prepare a note on the same with screenshots for the cci members.

Dear Querist - if the option given by Sanjay doesn't work. Then kindly file the return using taxcloudindia.com and then use the acknowledgment no. and bank a/c number to reset the passowrd.

Its showing. Following steps to be followed.

1) Go to https://incometaxindiaefiling.gov.in/

2) Click-Login Here
3)Click-Forget password
4)In Next page Mention your PAN and Captcha Code
5)In next page a drop down list will come to select an option. From that list select "Using OTP(PINs)"
6) Then again there are two options
(a)Registered Email ID and Mobile No
(b)New Email ID and Mobile Number
obviously you dont have registered email id. So chosse the second option.

7)Then give new email id, mobile no and select one option among
(a)26AS TAN
(b) OLTAS CIN
(c) Bank Account No.
You can mention any of these.
