ITR-V pertaining to AY 2008-09 (Income Tax)

Hello ! My query relates to treatment of ITR-V pertainig to AY 2008-09 & e-filed on 31.3.10. Do the revised norms of 120 days despatch time to Banagalore apply to AY 2008-09 as well? Or is it to be physically filed before the respective AO...In case of the latter, what is the latest time limit by which the ITR-V is to be submitted to AO. IN case the return is uploaded on 31.3.2010, by when should the ITR-V be filed physically/sent to B'lore. Please be clear in your answers. Thanks

ITR-V is to be sent to ITO-Banglore office only and it should reach before 120 days from date of filing.but in your case it is advisable to file as early as possible as it is a time bar case.

Thanks for the reply...but there still remains a grey area so far as ITR-V's of AY 2008-09 are concerned....One suggestion was to file physically before AO as well as post to B'lore...That seems safe enough!!!

The ITR V for the assessment year 2008-09 has to be necessarily filed before the jurisdictional ITO. If the return is uploaded on 31/03/2010, cut off date to file ITR V before the ITO is 15/04/2010.

Mr. Warrier, I am also of the same view. Actually the Board's Circulars regarding despatch to B'lore pertain only to A.Y.2009-10 & as far as A.Y. 2008-09 is concerned, the earlier instructions stand as they were never tinkered with....Thanks for the clarity which was required.
