The regulatory regime is continuously evolving with emphasis on good governance, transparency and reporting. In the recent times the role of financial reporting in promoting good governance has evolved phenomenally; simultaneously financial reporting has advanced with new taxonomies, auditing and reporting standards coupled with expectations of the industry, regulator and society at large. Media today is a tremendous source of information for individuals as well as society.
The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has scheduled an Orientation programme for media fraternity in New Delhi on 1 st and 2nd May, 2012 in Hotel Shangri la with a view to make them aware of the evolving Accountancy/Financial Services sector in the country, knowledge dissemination on financial management & regulatory policies, to enable them to comprehend the financial matters/policies in toto, and report it in a simplistic nature for the understanding of the common man.
