Lieutenant General Syed Ata Hasnain has been decorated for valour and distinguished service seven times by the Indian Army. On the academic side, he has a BA (Hons) in History form St. Stephen’s College, Delhi, M Sc (Defence Studies), an M Phil (Management Studies) and is also a post graduate in International Studies from kings College, London. He is known for erudite rendition of various subjects of strategic interest at premier institutions in India and abroad, including the IIMs, Institute of Defence Studies and Analyses. His Core competence lies in the study of political Islam and its effects on the security of India as also the Resolution of the Kashmir Issues.
