The Indian economy is one of the fastest growing economies of the world. The country has witnessed increased foreign direct investment over the past few years. As a result, the relatively new competition law has become one of the fastest growing areas of law in the country. India’s new Competition Law regime has played a crucial role in creating an environment conducive for increased investments in India from Indian and overseas business. In particular, the recently implemented Combinations Regulations under the Indian Competition Act, 2002 impact on businesses, legal advisors and regulators evaluating and contemplating potential investments in the country.
