3rd National Seminar on Indian Accounting Standards (Ind AS)

Ind-AS is a principles-based standard converged with IFRS purporting to reflect the underlying economic substance of business transactions, which in essence aimed at making accounts more consistent, comparable and thereby bringing a harmonization of accounting policies, principles and practices that, in turn, are expected to enhance corporate governance and responsibility. Ind AS are relatively more prescriptive and elaborate with respect to numerous areas in comparison with the existing Indian accounting practices; therefore, the adoption of Ind AS has so far and would likely to further have a momentous bearing on the financial statements of Indian companies. On the obvious note, the quantum of impact varies and would continue to vary across various industries and not only encompasses impact on financial reporting but also on the organizational structure and operations of a company.

Therefore, with a view to share some insights with the companies falling under both Phase I as well as Phase II, Banks, NBFCs and Insurance companies on Ind AS, ASSOCHAM is organizing 3rd National Seminar on "Indian Accounting Standards - Issues and Challenges in Implementation" on Friday, 7th October, 2016 at Hotel The Royal Plaza, New Delhi
