Thanks for the useful tips. Whether being it life or general insurance, the concept is not taken well in India. Insurance keeps your pocket under control even in times of contingencies. Here’s a link http://www.royalsundaram.in/ that explains it well.

Dear Mr. Ankur, You have again made a very valid point. In fact, the Rs. 12,000 crore infusion in ONGC by LIC is a proof that the government ownership is not a blessing but a curse for LIC. Its basket is full of bad apples now.

Also, I dont think ethical selling has anything to do with English speaking. Someone speaking a local language can also cheat and someone speaking in English can also cheat. Its more to do with the mindset of people and integrity of advisor.

Dear Mr. Ravi Shankar, I appreciate your point. But I dont fully agree. When we say "People cant pay", we are forgetting that they are paying by investing in high cost products. Its just that they dont know that they are paying.

one point can also be added..Because of misconception in people about "LIC " that govt is giving guarantee on the return on policies..people are buying this without knowing the product fully..Brand Image of LIC is also responsible for this in one sense
