  Workshop on Effective Changes in Service Tax and Applicability of Krishi Kalyan Cess w.e.f. 1 June 2016



The Indirect Taxes Committee, PHD Chamber is organising an Annual Workshop Series on different peripherals and issues under the Indirect Taxation with specific relevance to GST for the year 2016-17. The workshops will cover contentious issues of Indirect Taxation including specific issues of Excise/ Customs/ Service Tax/ VAT that need alignment under the GST regime with detailed impact and analyses of GST. The first Workshop was organised on the theme “Impact of Changes in Service Tax, Excise, and Customs – Union Budget, 2016” in April 2016.

The second workshop under the series is being organised on the captioned theme on Tuesday, 24 May 2016 from10:00 am onwards at PHD House, New Delhi. The workshop will be followed by lunch.

The following will be deliberated in detail at the Workshop:

 

Changes in Negative List of Service, effective from 1st June 2016

  • Education Services out of Negative list and its impact
  • Transportation of passengers by State Carriage and its impact
  • Transportation of goods by vessel or aircraft – Double Taxation and Legality
  • Open Issues therein

Applicability of Krishi Kalyan Cess, effective from 1st June 2016

  • Open Issues as carried forward under Education Cess, Secondary Higher Education Cess, SB Cess
  • KKC – New Levy and Point of Taxation
  • Taxability & Impact on Service Provider
  • Taxability & Impact on Service Receiver
  • Taxability & Impact on Partial Reverse Charge
  • Impact on Services under Abatement & Valuation Rules
  • Impact on Make in India & Ease of Doing Business

Assignment of right to use of Radio Frequency Spectrum and Other Natural Resources

  • Service Tax applicability on Declared Service
  • Service Tax applicability on any services by Government or Local Authority to Business Entity
  • Availment of Cenvat Credit of Service Tax paid on right use of natural resources
  • Point of Taxation on any services by Government or Local Authority to Business Entity
  • Valuation Issues on any services by Government or Local Authority to Business Entity
  • Open Issues
