You are already aware that Ministry of Corporate Affairs has made it mandatory for the following class of companies to file their Financial Statements in XBRL Form from financial year 2010-2011:-
(i) All companies listed in India and their Indian Subsidiaries;
(ii) All companies having a paid up capital of Rs. 5 Crore and above or a Turnover of Rs 100 crore and above.
Banking companies, insurance companies, power companies and Non Banking Financial Companies (NBFCs) are currently exempt from the filing requirements.
Most of the Companies have already completed XBRL filing for financial year 2010-11 and are in the process of finalization of accounts for financial year 2011-12. On April4, 2012 ICAI released the draft Commercial & Industrial Taxonomy 2012 (Excel File). The XBRL filing for FY 20111-12 will start as soon as the final C & I taxonomy 2012 is released.
MCA has also mandated the submission of Cost Audit Report & Compliance Report in XBRL format from financial year 2011-12 onwards. ICWAI had released the draft taxonomy for Cost Audit Report & Compliance Report in December 2011. The final taxonomy is expected to be notified by 30th June 2012.
